Community Meeting Center

Union Bethel AME Church provides no-cost meeting space to community-based programs. Mocha Moms, a support group for mothers of color who have chosen not to work outside of the home in order to devote more time to their familites, meets every Thursday for two hours. Narcotics Anonymous, a 12-Step Program and a member of an international community-based association of recovering drug addicts, holds three meetings per week.

We have hosted convocations for Milford Mill Academy, meetings for Baltimore County government, including a Martin Luther King Day celebration, information sessions for non-profits, and two press conferences for Senator Barbara Mikulski.

The Union Bethel AME Church family, in partnership with We Are Family Community Development Corporation, is supporting the construction of the Family Life Intergenerational Center to better serve our Randallstown community. We are “BUILDING OUR FUTURE – CONNECTING OUR LIVES.”

The Christian Academy, located at Union Bethel A.M.E. Church in Randallstown, Maryland,is designed to provide a powerful and unified K – 5th grade educational program. Students receive a quality education, which prepares them to enroll in institutions of higher learning. Students receive instruction in Biblical teachings, computer skills, physical education, sign language, science, mathematics, reading, language arts, and Spanish. Mrs. Almenta Bell, Director of Educational Services, has over 35 years of experience in education where she was employed as a principal and administrator. Under her guidance your child will receive a solid academic foundation. Before and after school services are available from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The Academy is approved by the Maryland State Department of Education.

The Child Learning Center, a Christian Pre-School located at Union Bethel A.M.E. Church in Randallstown, Maryland, focusing on Christian principles, opened its doors on April 5, 2004.The center offers a wonderful pre-school curriculum to develop the young mind. The children range in age from 2 through 5 years. We provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Our hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. We focus on Christian Education, Academics, Social and Emotional Development, and Cognition.

In addition to that curriculum, we have incorporated Spanish, Sign-Language, Computers, African American Studies for Youth, and Physical Education. We are happy to say that we have fifty (50) children enrolled, with a waiting list. Our center is open year round. All subjects are taught in a creative manner, by caring teachers, to excite the young mind!

Project RICHES (Remarkable Improvement In Children's Education Success) is a 21st Century Community Learning Center that partners with local schools to provide after school reading, cultural activities, and homework assistance to students in Grades 3-10. Operating three days per week, the program assists over 200 students attending Winand, Church Lane, and Scotts Level Elementary, Old Court Middle and Milford Mill Academy Schools. The program is funded by the Maryland State Department of Education.

The Summer Camp Program, a Christian-based day camp program, is located at Union Bethel A.M.E. Church in Randallstown, Maryland, focusing on Christian principles in a fun, enriching and safe environment for children 5-13 years old. The program offers a comprehensive full day of activities, including arts, music, literature, reading, physical education, computers, dramatics, swimming, day trips, snacks and so much more. The Summer Camp Program runs from June to August. Administrative staff are professional State of Maryland certified teachers, who have oversight for all lesson planning, training and development for all counselors and associate staff.
